Resemblance | Portland photographer

When I photographed Lauren I noticed that she’d brought a beautiful scarf and I asked her to try a pose that I hadn’t done with anyone before. I think she felt a little silly doing it…..it wasn’t the typical senior photo pose. But she sweetly went along with my request.

Then when her gallery was up, she noticed that this image reminded her of another she’d seen. I’m including it here, on the left is sweet high school senior Lauren and on the right is her paternal grandmother. I am knocked out at the resemblance between the two women and even in the similarity of the posing.

The family made a gift of the two images framed together for her grandmother and I just loved the idea! I worked more on the photo, to closer duplicate the coloring and processing look of the older image and I’m so excited about how it turned out. And thrilled that they shared the special story with me. I don’t believe in coincidence and am so grateful that they shared the end of the story with me.:)I thought you all might like to see it too.
