Justin | Portland high school senior photographer

We got out of the car to rain. Not just regular rain, but a really heavy downpour…..the kind that is too much for the drains to take….the kind that hits the ground so hard that it comes right back up at you, no matter how big the umbrella! It was supposed to be nice this evening, but it’s Oregon, you’ve got to know how to roll with it because the weather will not do what you expect. So we decided to go forward, start with some spots under cover and see if the weather cooperates. We were very pleasantly surprised.

Justin is an amazing track athlete….a sprinter. I’m sure he was laughing on the inside at the terminology that I tried to use when we did the track shots. I’m betting that there’s nothing called the “starting pose“. And maybe instead of “which number do you like to run in” I might have phrased it better…..LANE, perhaps? But he was a total sweetheart and didn’t laugh at the old lady.

I know, I know, I just got done saying how much it rained at the beginning of the session. But we ended with the track pictures and they are my favorites…..so the end is the beginning.
